"Nappers-Hawaii", oil.
Wherever the travels, I take-at least twelve rolls of film. My camera is always with me. On this day in Hawaii, while walking around the grounds of the hotel, I came across a sight that I found quite amusing. Two elderly couples were fast asleep under the grass umbrella-so exhausted from relaxing, they had rolled together in a cuddle. All lined up, they were oblivious to their own loud snores, or 'friendly' positioning. This painting was a tinkering with impressionism, which I often do, just to loosen my creative wires.

Original oil on canvas.
Studio work, 1999.
18"x24" - $1859.00
Signed and Dated.
Unframed.

"Memoir de Paris-France", oil.
This large painting took over a year and a half to finish. It is memories of the favorite places visited in Paris and the surrounding area, during the last two trips there. Eiffel Tower, and then clockwise…Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, Le Chateau-Versailles, L' Opera, Arc de Triumph and Champs Elysees, La Place Vendome, and Statue equestre de Louis XIV. To portrait buildings in detail with accuracy, you must study with some diligence the architect's design. I was fascinated to discover the Tower to be made up of hundreds of X's. Personally, the most challenging part was finding the courage to follow the picture in my head, which determined that I 'cloud' over a year's worth of detailed work on the Tower's upper portion. And, no, we never went to the very, very top.

Original oil on canvas.
Studio work, 1995-97.
40"x24" - NFS, Collection the artist.
Signed and Dated.
Framed.

"St. John Wedding", watercolor.
Sitting down at the balcony table over-looking the ocean, we toasted my sister's wedding to Tim.  I looked over my left shoulder and grabbed the camera.  I held the  button down, as the sun set-filling a roll of film to do the painting.  Included, is the sailboat that we all spent the special day on.  This piece was our wedding gift to them.   Since it hangs in their collection, I followed it with a cooler version for our's, so this memorable story  may be re-visited on any day.  As with my other pieces with water, in watercolor-both paintings were accomplished with near twenty washes on the water to capture the brilliant transparency of the sea.

Original watercolor on paper.
Studio work, 1995.
18"x24" - NFS, Collection the artist.
Signed and Dated.
Framed and matted.
