"Hiding Place",
watercolor. Way before I could ride a bike, I would grab my pad and pencil
venture on a hike to escape the mad world of a eight-member family. Down the road, through
the school yard, over a stream, through a barb-wire fence, across a field-when/if the mad
bull wasn't around and dodging the field snakes, up a hill and under a tree I sat. I would
look out and lose myself in another world. At that time, I knew I would be an artist for
the rest of my life. . Yes, I was a just a child. Even as adults, that child is always
with us. When I sit to paper or canvas now...she is looking over my shoulder-whether I
notice her or not.

Original watercolor on paper.
Studio work.
