 "Chesapeake Sunset", original art oil painting on canvas. This painting was commissioned by Carl and Amy Don-Schroeder. I was contacted by Amy via another commission patron of mine. She preceeded to tell me what she wanted. The painting was to be a unique and very personal wedding gift for Carl's brother, John, and his new bride Alexandra. As with all my commissions, I kept her on the phone for some time asking questions, as I tried to get a feel for the painting that she was seeing in her own mind. John loves to sail on the Chesapeake Bay in Indianapolis and lives on the cape. Amy was thinking of something romantic - and with my research of the area, I found that the most beautiful sunsets hover over the Chesapeake. Her waters, bridge, sailboats, rocks and viewers are all adorned with beautiful, glowing color.
